Worongary has a proud history of sporting triumph. With excellence in sport, teams must have space to train and play. The large grass oval is full of children at lunch times playing everything from soccer to rugby league through to AFL. The oval has rugby league posts at both ends, 2 long jump pits and a marked running/sprinting track.
This facility has prepared our students to win the Queensland Primary Schools Rugby League trophy, Carol Berry Cup girls AFL trophy and multiple interschool and regional sports championships.
Worongary has also been the home of 2 Queensland young sportsman of the year award recipients, numerous district, regional and state sporting champions, including captains of the Queensland AFL and touch football teams.
Above the oval are 2 multipurpose courts that are setup for either basketball, netball or tennis. The courts are also full of children at lunch practising for interschool sport. Our netball and basketball teams have been very successful in the past 5 years and continue to improve every week. In 2011 we played host to the Gold Coast Blaze vs. Worongary students basketball match.
