At Worongary participation, sportsmanship, team work, having a go and physical challenges are all essential parts of the physical education curriculum and in developing a love for physical activity and healthy lifestyle practices. Students are actively engaged in many and varied activities, games and sports, as well as interschool sport, district and regional sport and of course, three highlights of the school calendar; athletics, cross country and swimming carnivals. Worongary has great sporting facilities, sporting culture and an enthusiastic staff with much expertise in a variety of sports.
Worongary participate in both winter and summer interschool sport competitions and always excel and achieve outstanding results. Winter sport involves students in rugby league, AFL, soccer and netball. The summer season consists of touch, softball and basketball. If any of those sports don't suit, participation in the "Active Sports" program based at school provides and ensures active fun, physical activities for every senior student at Worongary. This emphasis on sport and physical activity has a positive effect on students' achievements in all facets of school life and in the schools sense of community and achievements.
