Worongary State School opened in 1993 and is proud to serve our local community. Our dedicated team of auxiliary staff, office personnel, teacher aides, teachers and leaders share a strong commitment to providing a high-quality education within the Queensland state school system.
We hold high expectations for ourselves as educators, and equally high expectations for our students’ behaviour and attitude to learning. When you enter our school, you will notice a calm, purposeful environment where strong routines support student engagement and academic success.
The word Worongary is derived from our local Aboriginal language meaning climbing vine. Like the vine, we value strong, growing connections with our families and community, because working together gives our students the best possible start on their educational journey.
We look forward to welcoming your family to our school.
