Life Education is providing the TALK ABOUT IT program focusing on sexual health and relationships. The TALK ABOUT IT program includes information on reproductive health incorporating physical and emotional changes associated with puberty, relationships and the concept of self. It has been developed in response to the need for increased and consistent education in the areas of sexuality, identity & relationships, and aligns with the Australian Health and Physical Education curriculum.
TALK ABOUT IT is designed to help students understand and cope with this important phase of their lives, in order to develop a positive attitude towards their own sexuality. While providing them with information on how to look after themselves during this stage of their development, Life Education recognises that the physical components of sexual health are strongly linked to the emotional and social aspects.
The Life Education team will be presenting, two modules, to students in Year 5 & Year 6 over 6 days, from Friday 8th – Friday 15th October. To support all students to access the program the cost of participation will be covered by the school.
There will be a parent information session held on Friday 8th October from 8:30am in the 5/6A classroom, where the Life Education presenter will be available to answer any questions you may have.
Please complete the attached permission form and return to the class teacher by Thursday 7th October.
